Puppies Behind Bars

Puppies Behind Bars (PBB) trains incarcerated individuals to raise service dogs for wounded war veterans and first responders, facility dogs for police departments, and explosive-detection canines for law enforcement. Puppies are brought into prisons at 8 weeks old and live with their inmate handlers for about two years, during which both the puppies and their raisers learn valuable life skills and the importance of contributing to society.

The Veterans Crisis Line provides support to veterans, service members, National Guard and Reserve members, and their loved ones. Veterans can reach the Crisis Line by dialing 988 and pressing 1, or using the previous number, 1-800-273-8255 and pressing 1. Additionally, they can text 838255 or chat online at VeteransCrisisLine.net/Chat. Enrollment in VA benefits or health care is not required to use this service.

Vets4Warriors

Vets4Warriors, operated by the Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care National Call Center, offers a unique 24/7 peer support network via phone or chat. Independent of the VA and U.S. military, Vets4Warriors complements government resources available to service members, veterans, their families, and caregivers, providing support to active duty, National Guard, Reserve members, veterans, and retirees.

David Lynch Foundation
