Silence the Shame, Inc. is a nonprofit organization committed to eradicating mental health stigma, reducing health disparities, and lowering suicide rates among vulnerable populations. Through community discussions, engaging content, and culturally responsive initiatives, we strive to normalize mental health conversations, dismantle layers of shame, and promote wellness for diverse and underserved groups, including Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), LGBTQ+ individuals, those in high-stress professions, older adults, and rural communities.

Two Spirit and LGBTQ Health – Paths (Re)Membered Project

The Paths (Re)Membered Project focuses on the strengths, resiliency, and history of the Two Spirit and LGBTQ+ community in the pursuit of health equity. Through community engagement, research, and advocacy, they aim to create a liberated future for 2SLGBTQ+ individuals, honoring Two Spirit ancestors, elder wisdom, and youth creativity. This initiative by the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board offers resources for individuals on their journey to self-acceptance, supportive healthcare, and community celebration, as well as support for providers and allies.
