Aly Vredenburgh is a nationally recognized mental health advocate, social innovator, and the founder of The Belonging Lab—a nonprofit dedicated to suicide prevention, community healing, and mental wellness through art and education.

She is the author of Out of Focus: Why Gen Z’s Mental Health Crisis is More Complex Than You Think, a groundbreaking book that blends research, storytelling, and policy insight to unpack the root causes of youth mental health struggles. Aly has spoken at international conferences, advised policymakers, and been featured on national media for her bold yet compassionate approach to systemic change.

With a background in sociology and a master’s degree in Social Innovation from the University of San Diego, Aly brings lived experience, academic rigor, and creative vision to every space she enters. Through her leadership at The Belonging Lab, she’s transforming how communities address mental health—using mural-making, expressive arts, and trauma-informed workshops to build a culture where people feel seen, safe, and supported.
